Tips to Promote Wellness

"Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is what you are."

-Chinese proverb

1. Authenticity

Be true to yourself. "What does that mean exactly?" You might ask.

To be true with oneself is to accept oneself with no judgment, is to live a life that is harmonious with your values and priorities, is to allow your feelings to be felt with no judgment, is not to wear a mask. When we live to please others, we are not living, we are acting. Act in a way that does not feel consistent with how you feel inside is the epitome of inauthenticity.

2. Balance

Does life feel balanced? are you dedicating time to your should's, need's but also to your want's?

3. Gratitude

If you woke up tomorrow with only the things you felt grateful for today, what would you wake up with?

4. Boundaries

Be sure that you are not saying "yes" to someone while saying "no" to yourself. While the concept of compromise is a necessary skill to maintain relationships, assuming an identity that is not yours is not.

5. Mindfulness

Are you mindful or is your mind full?
